Colder Than a Traitor's Heart is based on The Caverns of Kalte, the third book in the Lone Wolf fantasy gamebook series by Joe Dever. The story take us north across the icy Kaltesee to the frozen wastes of Kalte on a quest to apprehend and bring to justice the traitorous evil wizard Vonotar.

We worked to create a sonic landscape that echoes the story. While listening to the intro, picture Lone Wolf standing on the prow of the Cardonal, his cape whipped by chilly ocean winds, mentally preparing for the arduous quest ahead. Once you are into the verses, imagine yourself in vast, icy caverns. Listen out for crystalline tones. Look out for Choly's epic guitar solo in the mid section. Fuelled by whisky and late night creativity, it describes the climactic battle with Vonotar.

And all the while, the emotional momentum of the song is all about vengeance, which culminates in the massive, triumphant outro.
